In this part of our work book we will discuss four movements for manipulating cells in a workbook. They are as follows:

  1. Entering Data In Cell Blocks
  2. Moving Cells
  3. Moving Blocks Of Cells
  4. Moving The Cursor From Cell To Cell

Entering Data In Cell Blocks

Click and hold your mouse button down on a cell and drag the mouse across and down the cells you want to block. After the cells are blocked enter a number and it should show up in the first cell in the selected block of cells. If you continue to enter numbers the data you entered will only fill in the cells selected. This type of selection is handy if you don't want to look where your entering data.

Moving Cells

Click on a cell with your mouse and move your mouse cursor to the edge of the selected cell, your cursor should change to a four way cursor that has four arrows pointing outward. Click and hold on any edge of the cell and move the cell to a new location.

Moving Blocks Of Cells

Click and hold your mouse button down on a cell and drag the mouse across and down the cells you want to block. Click on the the edge of any of the selected cells, your cursor should change to a four way cursor that has four arrows pointing outward. Click and hold on any edge of the cell block and move the block of cells to a new location.

Moving The Cursor From Cell To Cell

Click on a cell with your mouse and if you want to move up, down or horizontally back and fourth use your arrow keys.
